Here’s why this scene is so brilliant and hilarious:

The way it begins is representative of a human being being forced to look nice for something that they don’t wanna go to. Morty combs his hair slowly and with precision, which represents our desire to not disappoint deep down as humans. Rick then proceeds to call out “Hey, Morty”. The infliction in his voice implies that he has something surprising and exciting to show Morty, which is done so the audience becomes intrigued, as Morty represents them as well. Rick then asks Morty to flip over the pickle. The pickle is representative of our human intellect constantly growing, showing us that a study of humans from a different perspective, in this case food, would usually go. Thus, the pickle also represents our growing knowledge as a species. Rick also choosing to do this out of spite for a therapist’s office is representative of the way humans abuse things. Morty then proceeds to imply some really smart comedy that only people of a very high intellect will understand. He says to Rick, “What? I’m gonna touch it and you’re gonna tell me it’s an alien dick or something?”. This is so amusing and such an intriguing piece of dialogue because as well all know, the alien species have different reproductive systems then ours. This means that yes, it is possible for an alien dick to look like a pickle. Morty then grabs a screwdriver to flip the pickle over, representing our fear of the unknown.

Rick proceeds to have a coup de gras, revealing that he is the pickle to both Morty and the audience. This is done brilliantly and he inflicts in a way that seems nonsensical and random, and thus, this causes the audience to burst our laughing with joy at the sight. Rick wanting to get Morty to focus on the fact he’s a pickle is representative of our want to be heard in conversations, or maybe even us wanting to focus on something cooler and/or more important. Rick mentioning that 9/11 was an inside job also requires a high IQ to understand. This is because there is a conspiracy theory that the government has a play in 9/11, and only smart people who have some sort of brains to watch Rick and Morty know this. Rick then shouts out, “I’m Pickle Rick!!!”. The way he shouts it with glee at the success of what he had achieved also makes the audience laugh. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is the reason why this the funniest shit I’ve ever seen.
