The Keystone oil pipeline was shut down Tuesday morning after it ruptured in North Dakota, with the spill confined to an agricultural field.

The cause of the rupture and the volume of crude oil spilled were not immediately clear. An employee working at the site near Fort Ransom heard a “mechanical bang” and shut down the pipeline within about two minutes, said Bill Suess, spill investigation program manager with the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality.

2 minute response time! That's seriously impressive!

To me the story is all about safety and the training of the person who had it shut down within a couple of min. avoiding a catastrophic event.

Welds are held to the highest standards. The pipeline is only 15 years old. This may have been deliberate.

Ive spent the past 15 years of my life in south western Pennsylvania on upstream, midstream and downstream, things like this dont just break. This was sabotage.

ah man, here we go, sabotage at it's finest, pipelines don't just rupture, 600-1000 psi flows through 4000 psi max pipes. With pressure sensors involved, this is very unlikely a mechanical failure. First EV cars, now this, what's next?

If you believe this was an "accident" then please never vote again

And yet, even with this spill, a pipeline is still the safest way to transfer oil...not trains.

I am willing to bet money that this was no accident !

Just fix it and clean up. This isnt the end of the world. Very easy fix as long as you can afford it.

Still MUCH safer than trucking the oil.

I’m just saying, considering all the political stuff going on and how insane 1/2 of the side of our aisle is, foul play is not off the table

1. All contained in A FARMER'S FIELD.2. We'll within structural PSI limits bringing speculation of FOUL PLAY. 3. The SKY is NOT falling... still.

Nothing in the video here shows anything about there being a ruptured pipeline. Did you guys forget to post the correct pictures or something?

Notice how the the middle part of this video they purposely post a blurry clip of pipe sections near a farm and canal with a bunch of liquid on the ground, hinting that the liquid could be from the "ruptured pipes."

However upon closer examination the liquid is just water and those pipes are just separate pipe sections. Nothing even hinting at the possibility of there being a ruptured pipeline anywhere.

Watch this video on mute and analyze what's being portrayed as the title suggests.

They don't match.
