Psychedelische Klänge, Harte Gitarrenriffs und teils groovige, teils monotone Rhythmusparts – diese explosive musikalische Mischung zeichnet den Sound von Monster Magnet aus. Mit ihren Alben und spektakulären Live-Shows wurden sie zu Wegbereitern des Stoner Rock.

Monster Magnet kommen aus New Jersey und gehören seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 1989 zu den wegbereitenden Stoner Rock-Bands. Anfang der Neunziger war ihr Sound noch sehr von Psychedelic Rock und Punk-Elementen beeinflusst, später wurde er wesentlich kompakter und eingängiger.

Mit dem Album "Dopes To Infinity" wurde die Band um Mastermind Dave Wyndorf Mitte der Neunziger auch hierzulande bekannt, 1998 folgte dann der internationale Superhit "Space Lord" aus dem Album "Powertrip". Die Band hat mittlerweile eine zweistellige Zahl an Alben auf dem Buckel, tourt um die Welt und macht immer wieder mit wilden Shows (u.a. mit Stripperinnen) von sich reden.

My buddy came over after school once to chill and he was talking about the new Queens Of The Stone Age record which honestly isn't that bad? I told him because Dave Wyndorf is light years ahead of Josh Homme and any Monster Magnet would simply crush anything QOTSA, 1 album later? He's now a believer! Above all. DAVE WYNDORF is the KING of ROCK!
