I love monster magnet... they are beautiful monster psychedelia triple dipped red monkeys tail. The only time I saw them was at a small club "one step beyond" in Santa Clara CA right after the release of super judge... Dave was glowing electric talking poetry as I had my left ear blown out for a week after. Beautiful memory I think I was 18. Peace and love.

I saw something similar happen way back in 2000.
There was a big festival show in town and A Perfect Circle was the middle band of ten. It had been a very hot and sunny day up until about ten minutes before they played. Dark ass clouds rolled in, the wind picked up, and as they started their set, it started pouring rain tortentially.
They played for 35 minutes in the downpour, slayed ever other band that played that day, and as soon as they were done, the sun came back out!😅

I played a big outdoor gig and the thunderstorm that had been heavily waiting to come, opened up on song number 2. Playing in that was absolutely awesome. My effects pedals stopped working, so i just unplugged them, and plugged directly into my Marshal, one strum and i was in!

20 years ago Monster Magnet played a show at St Andrew's Hall in Detroit. I knew the security guy, and he let me backstage after the show. I drank all the beer they had left. Sorry, Dave.
