MIDI Bass vs my REAL Bass

I’m comparing my real Dingwall NG3 Bass to the brand new Djinnbass 2 MIDI Bass plugin, to see if I can ACTUALLY replace my real bass with a bass that's on my computer.

A difference is noticeable when you're looking for it. It's completely undetectable when listening normally

They both sound good. I prefer playing a real bass though

It’s really a mild difference and both sound great but the program sounds more controlled while the instrument sounds more raw and aggressive

Man you can EQ and shape any sound into anything

Not sure if you just have a better groove or if it’s a more present sound, but your real bass fits much better into the rhythm section.

To be honest the second part (real bass) I can hear more mid range presence. I can hear it because I was looking for a difference but nevertheless the real Dingwall is sensibly more present there.

Me I prefer a real bass cause a midi bass doesn’t differ much from an 808 the only diff between midi bass and 808 is the 808 sounds worse but the midi bass sound a lot more like a real bassist playing a bass

mixup was great, i thought the 2nd one sounded a bit 'sterile' but was just my inner bias. I liked clip 1 quite a bit more lol.

The midi bass had more of a high treble wobble to it, I proffered the actual bass but in a mix no one would notice.

Midi guitar nowadays can sound exactly like a real guitar too. Especially gainy djent zero mastrurbation works nice. Midi drums sound good af. So why even play an instrument?
Tbh ai of some james Hatfield paired with good pluging of choice will sound better than almost every vocalist.
If you try to play real music not just zeros copying guitar's part you will notice a difference tho

In this case, Djinnbass2 sounds better. It uses samples played by an actual bass player.

Ya played different notes in the 2nd version and the bass was actually not hitting the guitar notes like in the first riff so it's a bit hard to judge!
