With that much more power I would have expected the Wildtrak to do much better than the Amarok. Shows how fantastic that ZF gearbox is in the Amarok. Just be careful to drive in 4H with the Ranger on Tar as you can get Diff windup.

Nice video guys, I expected the Amarok to win but maybe rerun the test without a canopy? Most double cab bakkies are sold in the 2wd / 4x2 variant what I don't get is why no motoring journalists do off-road tests of the more popular variant. Can you guys do a video of each of these bakkies in a 4x2 variant on a off-road course or even just a video to show case how capable a 4x2 with diff-lock can be?

I am so glad the Ford beat the others. I think there is nothing wrong with the Fords build quality. Ford make great cars. I own two Ford cars and love them both.

Ford should offer the 2.3, 2.7 & 3.5 Ecoboost petrol engines in the Ranger.
Yes I know the majority of the population want diesel for fuel efficiency and longevity, however I’m not one of those people.
I don’t want a low revving tractor sounding engine, I have the 4.0 V6 Hilux from 2009 and I love it, I simply couldn’t replace it with a diesel.
Thankfully Toyota still offers the 4.0 in its latest Hilux, but I’m more of a Ford man myself, I’d love the new Ranger Raptor with the 2.7 V6 or 3.5 V6 Ecoboost from the F-150.

I know the market for these engines in SA isn’t that big, everyone wants a diesel, but I know I’m not the only one who would appreciate Ford brining back some decent petrol engine offerings to the Ranger.
