COVID-19 update, Aug 4: Hong Kong reports 80 new cases, extends social distancing measures

On Aug 4, Hong Kong reported 80 new COVID-19 infections, mostly local transmissions. The authorities have extended social distancing rules by another week and all residents must continue to wear masks in public. Health care personnel from China have been deployed to the city. They will help with coronavirus testing and building of hospitals. A temporary field hospital has just opened, and two more are in the works.
