I’ve only been to New Orleans once. I am so desperate to go back when social distancing is relaxed. Literally the best food I have ever had. Also the locals are absolutely sweet. Never had a city treat me with such kindness and respect.

I love how I am just laying in bed while watching this and being hungry at the same time. There's nothing that can compare to it.

With those prices there's no way this dish is for the po boys anymore

God I love New Orleans! As a Yankee the South was always this foreign exotic land I had never visited. Now I live 3 hours from Nola and every time I visit I am never disappointed!

Been going to Parkway for almost 70 years. The food is great - biggest change (for the better) over the years is the front counter and if you don't know what I mean, you didn't eat there when Henry Jr. and Jake ran the place! My Grandfather was a streetcar motorman during the '29 strike, Mr. Timothy helped feed my family. I truly appreciate what Jay and Justin have done to continue the tradition.

When the girl and I went to NO a few years back, a friend who is a local said Johnny's was a good spot. Got a shrimp one & a catfish one both dressed and walked to the park looking at the river late afternoon...one of the BEST to go food memory of all time these are great

I grew up uptown so Domilises is very close to my heart, Killer poboys version is a whole new twist but it reminded me of a shrimp take on a Banh Mi, which I'm a huge fan of and that would definitely be something that would be right up my alley.
With all that said, Parkway is absolutely my choice as the best all around. Absolutely overloaded with fresh shrimp. I'm not big on heavy batter and theirs is so perfect.
I ride in the Krewe of Endymion parade, and several of us have a tradition now on the last Thursday before our parade, we load our floats in the morning and then head to Parkway around 1pm for lunch. It's a tradition we look forward to all year long, just as much as the parade itself.

Killer Po Boy isn’t a Po Boy... It’s a Bahn Mi. 🤔

In 2003, I visited New Orleans as an European Tourist. I followed a Police Officer just to see where he is having his lunch. He went to Johnnie's. Over the next couple of days, I did try almost every Po-Boy from the menu. I did like the catfish! Hope to dine in again.

I grew up in the New Orleans area. I have eaten po-boys all over the city. That is not a po-boy. That is a gourmet sandwich. I'm sure it's good, but it ain't a po-boy. Can't gentrify a po-boy. It shouldn't be on this video.

Awesome video. I was a tag-along in New Orleans with my wife for four days one may have hen she was on a work trip. I walked around on my own and ate my way though the city every single day! Best food lovers city in America bar none! We ate poor boys all over the place and I had researched the best before we went. Had beef, oyster, soft shell crab, and shrimp pretty much every place we tried. Loved them all - there were no losers and no losing restaurants. When we go back (next March god willing) I’ll only order shrimp. In my humble opinion, it’s the best option no matter which place you go. Loved Domilieses. In the end, the best I had came from Verde Marte in the French quarter. I actually after there 3 times on that trip and it was 3 of the top 4 meals I had in town. Little hole in the wall that took me a while to find cause I kept walking past it. Absolute best sandwiches in town. Muffletta was the bomb too! Would get my sandwich and a beer for an early lunch and go to the south end of Jackson square to eat under the magnolia trees. Wow, such great food. Can’t stop thinking about that place. The other meal that was on my top 4 was the shrimp and grits at Desires Oyster bar - also in the French quarter. I wanted to lick the plate! I ate at least 6 places every day just to make sure I hit all the places I wanted to try. When we go back these are the two places that I can’t live without revisiting. New Orleans and Louisiana is in our prayers for the destruction Ida brought. Be safe and be well! America has your back.

The best poboy imo is actually a fried oyster and bacon poboy.

When I'm in New Orleans, there is only one spot I go to for a Po Boy...and that's Mother's Restaurant on the corner of Poydras and Tchoupitoulas. I highly recommend the Ferdi which consists of Baked Ham, slow roasted roast beef and Debris ( bits of roast beef that falls into the gravy as it cooks, it's the consistancy of sloppy joes almost). Bring cash since they don't take cards.

When I was a kid, my go-to po-boy was shrimp+oysters. To this day, I still have never had a roast beef po-boy
