Super Saiyan 3 Is Useless #shorts

Today I discuss why I think Super Saiyan 3 has been a useless form in both Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super

Just to clarify:

SS3 not getting wins isn’t my only reason for thinking the form is pretty useless. I just thought it was a good way to get the general idea across in a short format. There’s also the massive stamina problems that prevent it from being used to its full potential in the living world. Then there is also the fact that in the manga continuity Trunks proved that SS2 has potential to surpass SS3 if trained properly.

Despite the form’s flaws I do like it. If you take the movies and GT into account it has a ton of great moments. I just think it fell flat in canon. I hope in the coming years we get some respect put on SS3, maybe Gotenks can master it to negate the stamina problems and prove how useful it can be if trained.

The reason SSJ3 didn't work is cause It not only drained goku's stamina but its drained Toriyama's too

He said in the show that he purposely let fat Buu live so Gohan, Trunks, and Goten could have a chance to fight him. SSJ3 Goku was also holding his own against kid Buu while SSJ2 Vegeta was getting his ass beat. Him losing to Beerus doesn't make the form useless when Beerus is the god of destruction. The only flaw was Goku not being able to maintain the form as long as SSJ2

I would argue that super Saipan 3 is a useful form however grueling times goku used it in battle he wasted it. He didn’t go all out against fat buu because he was only trying to buy time so the kids could learn to be earths protectors. He didn’t go all out against kid buu because he wanted to let vegeta have a turn at fighting him. And he didn’t even use it on vegeta because he didn’t want to hurt his pride. BUT had he used it to end the fights quickly he very well might have prevented the entire buu arc

Let me also clarify something:

Goku bought time for the earth against fat Buu. However he did state he could have WON that fight HAD HE GONE ALL OUT but he wanted to teach the boys fusion to defeat Buu instead so they could save the earth. Goku wanted someone else to defend earth because he was dead.

Also Super Saiyan 3 Goku AGAIN states during the fight with Kid Buu he ONCE AGAIN could have WON but he drew it out so Vegeta could have a chance to fight because Goku didn't wanna damage his pride.

Two of the dumbest moments for Goku easily.

I think ssj3 could actually be an INSANE tranformation if handled right. Ssj3 is the highest super saiyan form a saiyan can achieve without god ki or being a mutant (like broly or kale) so there has to be something that might set it apart from other forms, and I like to think it would be pretty cool to find out it has some hidden power, if we ever see a mastered form.

I remember reading about fans asking Toriyama about this and he confirmed that *Goku was more than capable of obliterating Fat Buu and ending things there, * but that wasn't his aim. Ever since the fight with Cell ended he told his wishes for letting others have the baton and be able to deal with Earth's future issues and enemies, since he can't be coming back and cleaning up things forever. The first time he showed us SS3 he was still on this mindset, and it's exactly why he decided to teach Goten and Trunks instead of just ending Buu himself and going back without anyone "going even further beyond" aside from him.

SSJ3 is a form meant for finishing a fight, but Goku likes fights to last.

The form wasn't mean to win. It was to show that this arc would be different from the last two. A new transformation wasn't going to be enough to win. It's a storytelling device.

I think it just didnt get enough time to be useful, but its not useless. Give the form to Broly. Let him train with it, and he'll be even more of a beast than he is now. I think thats the best way to utilize this form now.
