The Cheapest Shave Possible? (Brick & Mortar Edition)

In a previous video I discussed how you could get a good "traditional" shave inexpensively with products purchased online. But what if you don't have the patience to wait for those products to be shipped? What if you want the instant gratification of buying something in a local store and using for a cheap shave right away? There are actually a few options available to you, assuming you are willing to make some compromises, for a cheap shave (that's still a good shave).

*Thanks for the vlog Mark!* I'm all about being frugal (At times). My razor is a *Merkur 34C* with an *Astra SP* blade. The brush is an *Omega Sintex* and my soap is a *Arko shave stick*. _Always a wonderful shave!_

Your information is really accurate. Thanks for your videos. I'm a big fan of wet shaving like you.

the stuff you find in European shops is entirely different. Razors are pretty rare in big shops but you can find brushes pretty much anywhere and quite a lot of cheap soaps too. you can also find store brand blades that are almost always personnas or dorcos.

Cremo is my go-to brushless cream. I love the mint-scented one. I can't get Cremo in a brick and mortar where I am, so when I run out I usually have to wait a couple days for it. I generally agree with you on the pressurized creams; however, I do not agree about Barbasol. It works in a pinch, and doesn't dry your skin out nearly as much as other brands (especially the aloe vera formula), and I do keep a can or two from the dollar store as a fallback when I run out of a tube of Cremo. I'm of middle-eastern and Eastern-European descent, so I have a thick fast-growing beard. Because of this, I need to shave every single day in order to keep my skin soft and smooth, so waiting two days for an Amazon Prime order of Cremo is out of the question.

Great info!:) I found the Van Der Hagen razor to be nice. Yes, not the best, but good for travel. If lost, no big deal.:) I'd rather lose it than my Vikings Blade razor. VDH's luxury soap is fairly good. A bit pricey, though. I use Pacific Shaving Company's Caffeinated Shaving Cream for weekend getaways. I can pack it in my overnight shave kit quite easily. But once I find a decent travel container, I'll be using/taking Vikings Blade shaving cream.:)

Just a note, the Cremo brush is a Vie-Long horsehair, it even has both names on the handle.

$8 Gillette 5 blade razor, $5 shave soap/cheap brush, $1 pack of razors, $3 witch hazel and you're good.

All that from CVS, Wal Greens or Wal Mart for $20 more or less.

You mentioned Cremo having a shave brush, but I don't see it on their site.

You forgot about Macy's and Nordstrom! They carry The Art of Shaving product line. Even if the creams are reformulated, they should still work better than anything in the supermarket.

A pack of twin blade disposable razors $2.99 a can of Barbasol $1.39 and afta aftershave $3.99 does the job just fine and doesn't break the bank! It's all about technique.

Ha dollar tree 1$ for ten disposable razors (persona) each razor last about 18-26 shaves if not longer by making sure the blades are dry after every use and using the Jean trick to clean the blades up lather up with some cheap shampoo BOOM I spend maybe MAYBE 3$ a year on blades and my face is cleanly shaven for almost nothing GILLETTE IS NOTHING BUT A RIP OFF
