Well you can be thankful it wasn't an S model. That would've meant you'd had a turbo to deal with. Fun little cars though. A manual trans and a turbo makes em a zippy little around towner's. keep on keeping on.

its allways a sh•tload of fun laying in a puddle filled parking lot replacing a starter.my problem was i had to pay 110$ & get soaked to get home that day.im too cheap to pay for a rollback to get home.was either pay 150$ for a rollback home or get soaked.i got soaked.

Semper Fi brother you made it look easy, I just bought an 03 mini and put a battery in it and the starter turns but it doesn't engage the fly wheel. I'm wondering if I gave it a rap with something if it will free it up. Probably gonna have to take it out though. Any suggestions?

Is it possible to get it from the underneath? I get that those cars are low but what if I jacked up enough to slide underneath? Is there just a bottom cover in the way or other parts of the engine as well?

those headlamps look terrible! try the cornwell version CB14020 it has all the same features but has a flexible rubber front that has the led strip in it so it literally cant break like that and i think they are only like $30 a pop I got two of em

I’ve got to admit 4 hrs to change a starter sounds bad, not on you but rather the car builder .
Makes me wonder how much a shop would cost . I guess way more .
