this guy is still singing this song at the age of 73 in the same key ffs and absolutely killing it! One of the few guys of that generation to have really taken care of his pipes

Beth, you’ve definitely heard Mickey Thomas before, although you may not have known it was him. He sang on “Fooled Around and Fell in Love” by Elvin Bishop; and also the Starship hits “Nothin’s Gonna Stop Us Now”, “ Sara” and “We Built this City”. His voice is VERY high!

That's Grace Slick from the original Jefferson Airplane. Mickey is a fantastic singer. He has sung on many hits, not just for Starship.

To me, MT was the best rock singer out there! He could kill the mids and murder the highs! He had the perfect voice to harmonize with his voice in G. Slick. The band was all pro and played to match both voices. This group could and did change with the times! I LOVED THAT FACT!

Like Micky's little aw shucks smile and shrug at the end. He knows he nailed it.

If I could sing like anyone it would be Mickey Thomas, his voice is incredible. And this is live. The studio version is absolutely awesome.

That's the queen of psychedelic, Grace Slick. Her voice is so amazing and she is so devoted to the music that she shares the spotlight very well.

by far their best song for this lineup. Find Your Way Back is also good

I forget that the younger folks aren't automatically immersed in the classic music of the 70s. He did the lead vocals for Elvin Bishop's "Fooled Around And Fell In Love" and later in the 80s with Starship dueted with Grace on "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" of Mannequin movies fame.

*Mickey Thomas' unique, extraordinary singing voice and amazing talent are almost "criminally" underrated. Really. You hear him singing, "I fooled around and fell in love, " and you become his fan instantly (unless you don't have good taste for romantic songs)* 😁

There's a clip on a Howard Stern episode where he comes into the studio and sings Fooled around and Fell in Love with just an acoustic guitar accompanying him. Pretty amazing.

Haven't heard of Mickey Thomas? He's on the Mount Rushmore of great vocalists with Steve Perry, Brad Delp and Freddy Mercury. Mickey's talent really shined when he was with Elvin Bishop, and not just in Fooled around and fell in love. But some other Elvin songs feature Mickey's lead and background vocals. You can hear the gospel influence in his singing. By far one of the best to ever hold a mic

I am so glad you reacted to this song! I have always been so surprised that no singer on any of the talent shows like American Idol have never picked this song to sing because wow does it ever let you showcase your vocal range and singing ability. As always thanks for the great reaction and keep ROARIN' !!! Another song that is surpisingly amazing for vocals is a song called Baby Love by Mothers Finest... It is a total classic
