I grew up with the Lakers when they played NEAR lakes... Minneapolis, for folks who don't know, but as a Bay Area resident I'm a very grateful Warriors fan. I wish JJ well, but I will SORELY miss his presence on YouTube where his interviews are the best around. Those conversations are wonderful. He is a fan and players easily relate given his resume. There are other retired players doing something similar but there isn't another JJ on the scene. I expect he'll have success but I don't imagine I'll be a Lakers fan again. (JJ would do well to emulate Steve Kerr who clearly had phenomenal success creating a culture of excellence. Of course, he has a very young, talented team to coach.)

"I really don't give a F#?k. Like honestly, I want to coach the Lakers. I want to coach the team. I don't want to dispel anything, I don't. I want to become a great coach in the NBA and I want to win Championships. And I want my players to maximize their careers. That's all I f'n care about" - COACHJJ. Motha F'n Redick

JJ had by far, the best podcast about basketball, it's sad that it's come to end.

Congratulations and happy birthday, JJ Redick. I'm an oldhead; when I think of the Lakers, I still think about Magic and Kareem. I haven't really been a Lakers fan through the years, but you have a good chance of changing that. I'll miss the Old Man & The Three, but I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do with this team. Best of luck to you in this new season of your life.

I’m actually excited lowkey! I trust JJ I don’t expect championship quickly but I do want to see progression and at least moving forward in getting this team to be as glued together and as smart as possible

I’m sold on JJ. If Joe Mazulla can be competent then so can JJ.

Why can't we be happy for JJ Reddick? Everyone is extremely salty about this situation. A player turned NBA coach is not a new precedent.. Steve Kerr...Jason Kidd.. If anything, a proven NBA player as an NBA coach should be the standard. Just like how basketball podcasts are now being dominated by retired and/or current NBA players talking about basketball instead of "know-hows" like Stephen A smith, Skip etc.

As a JJ Reddick's podcast fan this is sad, I hope the Lakers don't trash him like they did on the previous coaches.
