I like this aesthetic. Very neat. Nice, calming neutral tones. Versitle. I mostly like wearing black because it's my favorite color lol.

I have been downsizing my wardrobe due to sheer overload (I donated SO MANY clothes), creating my own “capsule” collection of sorts. My work life does not support my usual wear (gothic), so I listed out the minimal clothes I wanted for each category in my life. Work, Family Appropriate Attire (My family hates that I still wear gothic and rocker attire despite being a working professional), Special Occasions (weddings and fancy dinners), Sleeping and Lounging, Gothic, and Work Out Wear, and then I saw where I could overlap in certain categories (socks, shoes, pants, skirts, tops, etc…) and culled my closet of the rest of my clothes once I narrowed down what I truly loved and needed. I still have a large selection of clothes, but I can actually SEE my wardrobe and be inspired instead of dreading going through my closet.

I think that’s the dangerous influence of fast fashion. Most of my clothes are not fast fashion brands, but because of fast fashion’s ever changing trends and marketing, it really tricks you into buying way more clothes than you need. The only good that came out of my spending tons of money on clothes is that now someone will be able to have those nice clothes at a heavily discounted price.

Tip is always have a set of basic colours in every clothing style and type and then layer with patterned skirts or jewellery and then swap have a plain skirt and patterned top

What a brilliant idea to identify the key pieces in the current wardrobe! Mine would have been quite similar to yours but I slowly discovered that I'm really into the look of asymmetrical midi/maxi skirt with a satin finish, whether it's pleated for mermaid finish, and they become quite staple pieces in my looks yet very versatile, so I'd add that.
