On this channel, I share #slowfashion and #sustainablefashion tips that center around how to #shopyourcloset, and restyling pieces you already own. I also spotlight brands that I believe in every now and then. I believe in #creativityoverconsumption, and that we all have the power to be conscious consumers.

Slow fashion looks different for everyone, and I'm so grateful you share this space with me!

Thanks for the show. I do think starting from scratch, for most people, might start with getting underwear -- panties and bras -- that fits really well AND is comfortable. It's so hard to find but worth the search and cost. And EVERYTHING looks and feels better on top of well-fitting unders.

I resisted pointed-toe shoes for so long, believing they'd be uncomfortable but, in the past year, I've gotten two pairs, a flat and a kitten-heeled slingback, and I can't tell you how much they have elevated my outfits! The flats are a taupey grey, so they are pretty much a neutral, and the slingbacks are a patent nude, so they go with and dress up anything! Great video with a lot of concise information. Thanks, Alyssa! ❤

Blue jeans, tennis shoes and vintage sneakers, sandals and one pair of black Mary Jane pumps, tops with t-shirt material, some with different cut sleeves and middi length long dresses . I use my collection of jewelry to change my outfit looks a lot.

I admire your thoughtfulness in how you approach fashion. It would be amazing if we all had the opportunity to start over again with our wardrobes. I would be so much more intentional and purchase more quality pieces rather than having a large quantity of clothes, shoes, and purses. However, I am learning to shop my closet more thanks to you.

I'm obsessed with my POMP button up. I purchased "the tailor - proper fit" style based on your recommendation and it's the best fitting button up I've ever owned. I have a larger bust for my size (C cup) and ordered my usual XS and it fits my frame while also fitting my bust perfectly - which for me, never happens 💜

Thank you for mentioning the skirt which you don't wear day to day, but love for occasions! I have a dress like that and sometimes feel bad since the cost per wear is not as low as with more frequently worn pieces. Like you, I still consider it a foundational piece in my wardrobe!
Yes, it was a bit pricey but when those occasions do come around I know I love this dress and will feel fabulous in it. So thanks for reminding me that I don't have to regret that purchase. Cost per wear isn't everything xx

This is a great video! Short, concise comments about each item but you still conveyed your 'why' justification of each piece beautifully. Such a pro. Thank you.

Ahhh, you’re selling me on the POMP shirt. I’ve been thinking about it for two years now. That navy looks divine on you.

So much of your appeal is the thoughtfulness of the content. I have a very different body and style than you but I always walk away with something. Just thinking about your comments about button down shirts made me consider the neck lines I favor and why. I have always struggled with the collared shirt and the reason is I have a shorter neck and voluminous hair. A collar just adds too much weight to what’s already going on there. If I buy a collared shirt, it’s in a drapey material like tencel for denim so it lays flat. I’ve cut the collars off two denim jackets and frayed them for an edgy vibe that works for me.

Last year I bought two POMP shirts after seeing you wear yours in your videos for several years. I needed to refresh my white button down and while I was at it, I got a light blue as well. I am wearing them constantly. The fabric is a wonderful cotton with a substantial yet soft hand. I would never have known about these if not for you, so thank you!

Vintage Levi’s are a must for me. Also a white T-shirt, white button up, chambray button up, linen tank top in white, tan, navy and black, linen trousers in white and tan, black dress pants, black and navy blazers, and summer dresses.

I think your videos are probably the best out there on this subject. You are helpful, knowledgeable, compassionate and authentic. Thank you for all your advice and sharing it.

Beautiful choices!❤ my choices because of the harsh cold climate are: black leather pants, black leather skirt, cream cable knit sweater and dark grey cable knit sweater, a plaid wool midi skirt, , Canadian Goose black down parka, A stash of pashmina paisley shawls in different colours, black or red; leather gloves, white button down shirt, jeans that fit perfectly, Chelsea boots, loafers, Birkenstocks, , Wellingtons and black pumps and a leather messenger bag, a swimsuit and a pair of shorts likely in black or beige and a gauze shawl for summer. Sunglasses. All black or mainly. Colour only from the shawls!

Jeans, dark blue, black and mid blue. Merino crew necks, black and a cobalt blue. Off white cashmere roll neck jumper. Black wool turtle neck jumper. Leather, denim, or suede jackets. I'm exactly the same regarding bags, Alyssa. I don't like swapping them. I absolutely love ankle or knee-length boots (in winter) and have multiple pairs in leather, suede, and patent leather. Prefer trousers or skirts to dresses. Excellent content, Alyssa. I so value your guidance and consistency. Thank you, 🖤💙

Hurray for Canadian brands! Over the past couple of post-lockdown years, during which I can shop local (in Toronto) again, I've discovered (or re-discovered) Canadian brands.

I have an embarrassing number of Brave Leather bags and belts, Danier, Hiso and Mackage leather, wool and sheepskin jackets and coats (some I have had for 20+ years), La Canadianne footwear and bags, Fidelity Jeans, Smythe blazers, etc. etc. etc.

I was in New Orleans earlier this month, dying from the unexpected heat and humidity, and felt the need to snap up some cotton dresses. I walked into a boutique selling nothing but cotton and linen frocks for the local ladies and picked out the two most stylish non-garish midis. "These are from MON-tree-yall" the salesclerk told me. "So am I, " I replied. "It's my hometown."

I'm not much of a slow fashion type as it's hard to find vintage in my size and suitable for my age (73) which doesn't look costume-y but I can tell you that I have quality classic pieces dating back to the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s in my closet. It pasy to buy classic and quality, and it need not be boring nor conservative.

I look for function, versatile, creativity, and comfort. It helps me make choices able to staples in my wardrobe. Also, my color palette, so everything goes together. I learned this from you and other content creators. At 51, I feel good about my wardrobe. Thank you!
