Tools! Tools are the best. You realized when you get really into a hobby that two things are true. 1. The tools you use aren't as important as how you use them. 2. Grew up working on cars with my dad . I’ve restored a few on my own and watches go hand in hand and I’ve restored over 20 watches now, watching your videos have helped a ton. Yes, older mechanics and tools are awesome. On the flip side I saw a cool technology cyberloupe 3.0 where they use a camera, loupe, and lens all hooked together that looked great for making your videos and recording all in one. Not for sale, but looks perfect for seeing up close without something in the way while working intricately.

When most think of watchmakers tools the first thoughts are of hand tools like that mainspring winder or a tweezer but if i may i would put forth the following as the first and foremost indispensable tool...
the workbench !
I know i know most will disagree, until they run out of surface area on their bench and then the realization will hit them like a freight train ! 😉
This is truly one tool where the bigger the better really matters 👍
