What you could do is sell the John Deere to a local Farmer and place it in their yard. You get the 5k and still see the tractor. When you buy the land you get the John Deere back. This a great map, for your style of playing.

This series inspired me to start a game on this map! I'm not doing a survival type, but I am doing it with 'old iron', most of my equipment is from the late 70s to the early 90s. Started on farm manager, but limited my starting cash. Started with the same yard as you, and my goal is to own all the fields to the south all the way to the end of the road as well! Working on setting up a decent silage producing farm while doing whatever contracts are lucrative :D

LOL If I was playing this game, I'd take out a big loan, buy a mower, tedder, windrower, wrapper, baler, front loader and bale trailer, set the game to real-time, and pay the loan off with baling contracts. And I'd do the same thing with a fertilizer spreader. I know that's not the way you play, but that's my go-to strategy when I need to finance new equipment.

As you put "harvesting" to lazy farmers the chance is really low that the farmer will harvest the field while you are doing another job :)

Technically you can do the same stuff you do with a regular tractors with vintage game doesn't really give vintage the respected deserves
