It's become an official rule,

When you find a star you MUST sprint through the level as fast as humanly possible

After taking a look at the Super Star Power-Up itself, today I'll present you the evolution of its theme (i.e. including Mario 64's Wing Cap, Vanish Cap and so on). Please enjoy! :)

2:22 is the absolute best. I love its craziness and I spent a few minutes looking for it in these compilation videos because my memory failed me at what game it was. I don't remember playing that game, but I remember hearing that tune!

8:22 love how the music stops, has the power up sound, and then the super star theme starts 🔥

I can't believe the worst of them is in Mario Odyssey.

Edit: My most liked post on YouTube lol

Well in all these years I never knew that Mario64’s Wing Cap was a remix of the Yoshi’s Island Starman theme :) you live and learn.

It's like they didn't even try with the star for Mario Odyssey. Sure, you still get hit, but don't lose life. It's not even the correct star theme.

Super Mario Odyssey is the first game in the Super Mario series where the super star theme is not associated with invisbility.

64 & Super Paper are my favorites, period. Who can't resist such a soft and short song like the Wing Cap theme! It even got a metal remix which was amazing! Then Super Paper Mario went and things just went into perfect territories. It's PERFECT!!

I just find the Super Mario 64 one most nostalgic... just feels so graceful

For anyone curious, 1:20 is actually just the "Galop infernal" from Jacques Offenbach's opera "Orpheus in the Underworld" - better known as "that can-can music".

The SM64 flying and invisible cap theme is the best. It kinda reresembles zeldas lullaby imo. Anyone else?

Super Mario 64, and the DS remake, was the pivoting point of the songs, epicness.

Yoshi’s Island, all Mario 64 games, New Super Mario Bros DS, all Mario Galaxy games and Mario Run had the best star themes.

The starman for Super Mario Odyssey looks disappointing

12:53 That’s the same music that they used in the Rainbow Run level in Super Mario 3D World!
