If someone wants to learn string theory he should have solid understanding of quantum field theory. To learn quantum field theory one has to have a solid understanding of quantum mechanics and theory of relativity. Life is not easy. Physics is interesting.

To understand Tong's lectures on string theory, is it enough to have an understanding of GR and QFT in the extent of Tong's lecture notes on these subjects?
