An annoying thing about this credit is that you only get five times points if you book through the portal, but it seems like the credit is only applicable through the hotel.

The question I have is do I need to have a booking to charge incidentals to, or can I just walk into a higher and Hilton eat at a restaurant inside of Hilton and get a $50 credit toward the restaurant?

Losing the Dell credit is news. A useless Hilton credit isn't worth mentioning. Why doesn't Amex give Platinum cardholders $4 per week Hilton credit? People paying $700 in annual fees aren't looking to save pennies. We want real value. How about higher status with Hilton or an annual credit rather than quarterly?

One quarter of my Rakuten purchases didn't earn the claimed cash back.
