12:20 Soviet union authorities wanted to remove the monument but they were afraid that will raise a rebellion and that is correct because that monument also reminded people here of freedom and on 14 June 1987, about 5, 000 people gathered at the monument to lay flowers. This rally renewed the national independence movement, which later resulted in restoration of freedom for Latvia.

You needed to visit the original Lido, this is just a branch business. The big Lido was like Latvian Disney land when growing up
