My favorite movies that were nominated are “Frankenweenie” and “ParaNorman”. One of them should have won

Wreck-It Ralph and Brave were the only ones that stood a chance

Brave has great screenplay. Brenda Chapman became the first woman to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

Brave isn't a bad movie, but just about all of them were so much better and more creative. My personal choice would've been ParaNorman - fantastic stop-motion and visual design, plus the story featured some pretty mature themes while remaining family-friendly.

Look at Paul Rudd's face. Even he was shocked.

Merida (voiceover): "Some say our destiny is tied to the land, as much a part of us as we are of it. Others say fate is woven together like a cloth, so that one's destiny intertwines with many others. It's the one thing we search for or fight to change. Some never find it, but there are some who are led."

I did not say I like Brave. I was saying that Brave came out of nowhere and unexpectedly won! When they announced the winner, I congratulated them. I would've liked the other nominees to win, but it is what it is! Bottom line, Brave won fair and square!

Honestly I wanted the Pirates band of misfits to win an Oscar for this

90% ~~ disappointment comments
10% ~~ satisfaction comments

First of all I belong to 10%, I observed mostly wanted wreck-it Ralph to win but when I simply imagined my reaction/perspective while watching was filled with fun, the "sad part" didn't got me, being a gamer the racing action makes me hype but the deal is I got nothing as the movie ended, something like learning, realization, morals which by the way very important to a cartoon category. On the other hand *Brave* made me feel emotional swing, fascinated how cute little Merida is(inserting *awww* sound) I'm mad seeing Merida being a typical teenage, having fun watching the triplets princes parts(especially with Mo'de) scared of the part she's escaping Mur'do, hyped as Merida trying to escape in the locked room, cried like how Merida did in her mom's bear arm and satisfied how related the intro quote and ending quote it made me smile. The deal is I did learn a lot in *Brave* from the daughter-mother relationship, the decision making sense, realize being a princess isn't a dream worthy like how Disney's movies perceived that it's happily ever after they're become princess rather it's very complicated, that we should be brave enough to see our fate, a lot to mention. See brave isn't bad as you think maybe you're just blinded by how you liked wreck-it Ralph to see the beauty within the Brave movie, a lot of lessons, morals, politics, awareness, and most importantly almost everyone can relate(family oriented). :) worth the Oscars

After 3 years, Brave winning is still disappointing. Wreck-It Ralph should have. Academy screwed up big time.

I just love how Mark Andrews went to the Oscars wearing a kilt, that is just the icing on the cake!

Congratulations to these people. Brave is a great movie. I don't think it's worth getting upset over just because Wreck it Ralph didn't win. Being angry over something little is just sarcastic. Brave won fair and square. Besides, it's not the end of the world if Wreck it Ralph didn't win.

Merida goes from a selfish and stubborn child to a mature, level young lady that now knows when to admit to her mistakes. By the end of the film, Merida has learned to appreciate and respect her mother.

Elinor loses her perfectionist tendencies and becomes more open-minded. Elinor comes to accept Merida for who she is and stops trying to change her daughter, while still preparing her for the future.
