Ya'll this movie is beautiful and Merida is my fav princess of all time. However, it is one of the worst ranked Pixar movies and there is a lot of hate towards it because for many it didn't live up to the Pixar standard.

And I was just stating that fact 😂

I also have my problems with the movie but that's it.

Have a good day everyone and stop watching shorts, go do something better 😂

One of the BEST things about this movie is that unlike most other movies where it is one-sided, it wasn’t solely Merida’s fault, nor the mother Queen Elinor’s fault. BOTH were at fault and BOTH had to change and reconcile equally with one another. And both had to understand each other for the happy end result to be produced.

Fun fact: the animators spent almost 3 years learning curly hair physics to animate Merida’s hair

One thing I really enjoy about this movie is the fact of them having to make a whole new program just for her hair, as it was very hard for them to animate.

No WAY this movie is hated? She was my favorite Disney princess, behind Tiana ofc from Princess and the Frog, but I've always LOVED Brave!!!

Brenda Chapman, the director of Brave, originally wanted the movie to be about Merida and her mom and wanted to explore their relationship. She got replaced with Mark Andrews, who tried imposing his own storyline in the movie, by completely rewriting the second part of the movie. That’s why this movie’s plot feels odd: it’s a mix of two separate ideas imagined by two separate people for one movie.

Eliquorice made a great 50 min video about this that goes more in depth, i highly recommend it

It's annoying that so many people acted like Frozen was this revolutionary Disney movie because it focused on a family relationship rather than a romantic relationship, yet Brave came out the year before and was fully focused on a mother/daughter relationship. Even Frozen still had the romantic relationship between Anna and Kristoff. I've never heard of Brave being hated, but it's certainly forgotten and that makes me sad because it's such a genuinely amazing movie.

I remember my parents bought Brave on dvd and I watched it 3 times in a row back to back. Never heard of any one hating it, its a great movie.

Don’t forget the BEST Disney dad! He lets Merida have a weapon, doesn’t body shame her, allows her to have fun outside the castle, and loves her enough to protect her from a giant bear in very close quarters!

Didn’t even know people hated it. I like it, I remember when I went to the cinema to watch it, nice music, animation, characters, and the bow scene is epic

I LOVE brave. It felt raw and real. It depicted how relationships can be with family. Not always perfect. Argumentative. But showed how differences can be overcome. Merida is fierce and strong. AND the animators spent soooo much time on her hair that she deserves love

My favorite line is when Merida recognizes what she has done and asked her mom forgiveness saying, "I am sorry for what I have done to you, to US!!" That line pretty much sums up the movie and was the truth, it never left me.

I love how theres no love interest and it focuses on a mother daughter relationship, one where they both love each other and want the best for each other but find it hard to communicate. It portrays a very common problem in such a nice way

I can never hate this movie. Never in a million years. This movie represented my relationship with my mother. I made her watch this and she immediately understood why I love it so much.

It still brings tears to my eyes.

I had absolutely no idea that people dislike this movie. It’s been a favorite in my family since it came out.

For once it's about mother-daughter relationship, perception and point of views, cultural / family heritage and duty, personal growth... It's actually pretty deep, it's awesome
