St Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow, Russia is an Orthodox Christian cathedral built it 1555-1561 by the order of Tsar Ivan The Terrible. Architecturally, it is one of the best examples of the Russian style.

In fact the St Basil’s Cathedral is an architectural ensemble which is unites 11 churches together.

I went here back in 2014 when I was 15, I lost all my pictures of my whole Russia trip, I was upset I couldn't recall much from this and not having my pictures anymore(I dont believe photography was allowed in here when I went tho, there were babushki enforcing it😂) but this brought it all back. There was some monks chanting in the upper floors which is my favorite memory. Really wish I could take a time machine and experience it all again. Thanks for the nostalgia

Extraordinary! Thank you Sergey for taking us along on this HD walk within the iconic cathedral. I was aware of that it is really a gathering of smaller chapels gathered around the centre, but I had no idea of quite how many priceless works of art are located within it. The vaulted, mysterious rooms remind me of Eisenstein's Ivan Grozny films (the interiors of those were meant to recreate this style of building of course, it's the same age, although they were recreated in studio in Kazakhstan because Moscow was not available for filming at the height of the war). It is very easy to imagine some of the historical scenes that this church, and the faithful inside it, will have witnessed... 🙏💗
