The same feature is present in the 105 mm macro lens but for minimum focusing distance! I use this all the time as a Z7II user where autofocus firmware is not ad good as the flagship

It works well if the lens is hunting, but while I shot sports for a long time, I haven't had much of that issue since the D3 came out. The D2 series use to do it a lot.

Would you use it even if you have worked up a habit of pre-focusing? There is always a risk something suddenly shows up closer than 10m or that you forget to switch it back to full.
