The Turbo 2 honestly looked better in every shot. Better contrast and sharpness all around, especially at 5.6

With this design, the lens turbo II isn't mounted like a conventional lens. The process of mounting the lens goes as follows:
1. Mount the lens you intend to use to the Lens Turbo II like you would any lens to it's corresponding mount.
Now here is the most important part!
2. Make sure that the"RED" dot on the turning ring on the bottom of the adapter is turned to the "OPEN" position. (This red dot is NOT used to align the adapter to the lens mount for mounting. It is used to get it ready for mounting).
3. Now, Align the "WHITE" dot underneath the adapter to the "WHITE" dot on the A6000/NEX/E-mount and hold the Adapter with the lens in place.
4. Next, with the adapter with lens attached sitting inside the mount, "ROTATE" the "RED" dot on the turning ring from the "OPEN" position to the "LOCK" position on the Adapter. This will tighten the adapter with lens to the Camera mount.
I didn't read the direction before trying to mount mine to the A6000's E-mount and now I have two marks at the bottom opening to the sensor.
WARNING:
I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE NOT CHANGING LENSES WITH THE LENS TURBO ATTACHED TO THE MOUNT. THE TORQUE REQUIRED TO TWIST A DIFFERENT LENS IN PLACE WILL CAUSE THE SQUARE SHAPED REAR ELEMENT TO GRIND AGAINST THE BESEL OPENING TO THE SENSOR AND LEAVE PERMANENT MARKS.

Nice comparison. I was very nervous initially buying the Lens Turbo II for my NEX-5R and Canon FD lenses as it was cheaper and had almost zero reviews when I bought it. I've been very happy with it, though, and rarely ever find myself taking it off!

As you saw on my Instagram I got the Lens Turbo 2 for the Nikon Series E 50mm, and I absolutely love it. The speed booster is much heavier and better made than I was expecting. Highly recommended if anyone is sitting on the fence.

The Turbo is very well made. I used to use the Turbo 1 with my Black Magic Pocket and Carl Zeiss Nixon mount lens combo. tack sharp! And from where I'm sitting the Lens Turbo 2 looked a bit sharper especially on the metal fence.

Metabones is quality but they really need to drop the price.  I'm willing to pay more for a superior product, I'm just not willing to pay that much.  I think I speak for a lot of people here.

I've spent nearly USD 500 in the Metabones Speedboster and I have to say I could have saved that money. It works well only from f / 1: 4 to f/ 1:11.
At f / 1: 2 or less to f / 1: 1.4 only works well in the center of the image. At the sides and corners is very, very soft and provides chromatic aberrations.
The extra stop is useless and is better to spend that money on a good native lens.
I am outraged that Brian Caldwell told me that the problem is the lens Canon FD 50mm f / 1: 1.4. It is incredible

THE REAL DIFFERENCE IN PRICE IS THE ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION!
I purchased the Turbo Adapter expecting to use it with my Sigma 18-35mm ART lens on my GH4. Only to find out that I cant use it because I have no way to set my aperture because the lens doesnt have a manual aperture ring on it. It all has to be done in camera. The speedbooster has Electronic communication, and will allow you to use not only older manual lenses but also electronic lenses. The difference in price is actually worth it.

i think this is the only focal reducer comparison video on youtube?!? i was looking for a video like this =) no big noticeable difference. worth saving money and going for the lensturbo2. only other thing i can suggest adding to the video is review of how secure the adapter is to the lens & camera. Is there any wobbling to the lensturbo2? or does metabones screw on too tight your lens gets stuck sometimes?

As soon as i enter the US this thing is bought. It's a dream come true. No need to buy a full-frame, at least for now!

We need to see what happens at the edge of frame. Any test on that?

I'm very happy with my lens turbo II, my first generation the blue spot ruined MANY shots, and the IQ was not as great. After a ton of time with the first lens turbo, upgrading to the version II was worth every penny and then some. One issue I have with the lens turbo II is the mounting system. Once the lock ring got loose and when trying to remove a lens, it twisted the lens turbo off my camera mount. this actually scratched the area around the sensor, the metal on the camera, and broke a corner of the glass on the rear of the lens turbo II. It's all an accident - but the old mounting system of the first lens turbo was much easier, but the improved closeness to the sensor and the glass coatings on the lens turbo II are worth the trade off to me.

Hello! great video! the Lens Turbo II work whit Canon Ef lens like Tamron 17-50 mm?..and whit the Nikkor AL-S 35-70mm? i have a bmpcc. Thanks

Nice test. Both look very good. I do however think the price comparison is a little unfair. Should really be comparing it to the FD Speed Booster with is a lot cheaper, at $399, than the EF Speed Booster that includes full electronic controls for electronic EF lenses.

Nice video like always ! Do the Lens Turbo II M42-> NEX & FD->NEX fit on the PXW-FS5 ? I ve heard some people complaining about the adapter scratching the sensor ...
