By the looks of the tub that floor will rot in no time because no water proof barrier was installed between the vinyl tiles and wood floor. The water will seep in-between the Seams.

1. The tile to be cut is slid back. Its back edge is in line with a previously placed tile. Actually, the whole tile is placed on top of a previously placed tile exactly, with all edges lined up.
2. Another tile is placed against the wall and over the tile to be cut. Only a small bit will be on top. (The part to be removed is now on top of the other tile. The rest of the tile is on the floor and against the wall.)
3. Using the rear edge of the tile on top as a guide, cut the tile underneath.
4. Remove tile underneath and snap the cut. Remove tile that was on top.
5. Peel and place.

Makes it look easy, which it's not rocket science but it's also something that you become good at over time, that and up and down constantly, on knees ALOT maneuvering in awkward spaces, respect to guys that do this for a living

If he wasn't clear you place a new tile over the back tile and use yet another to place against the wall over the sub floor and clip the narrow back piece off. Always remember rough or cut edge against wall . Baseboard will cover imprecise cuts.

As a floor layer I can confirm this is exactly how you do it, no the tile underneath wasn't marked because the blade only scored the top tile and thats why he snapped it and did a second cut but sticky floor tiles don't last anyway unless you use proper glue underneath so please don't try this at home

I would never install sticky back vinyl tiles. After a year of humidity changes they will separate and never be the same
