English irregular verbs - practise irregular verbs in Present Perfect with sentences and pictures.
This video deals with some of the most common English irregular verbs (83) in alphabetic order. Each irregular verb comes with example sentences, the first one is mainly a question and the second one is an affirmative or a negative sentence in the Present Perfect Simple tense.
You can hear all irregular verb forms, the infinitive, the past simple and the past participle forms but in the sentences, you will only see the third form of the verb, the past participle form as this is the building block of the Present Perfect.
The video is put together in a way that learners will have enough time for saying the verbs and the sentences out loud not just reading the content, therefore I recommend saying the verbs and sentences right after hearing them. If necessary, pause the video and go on watching when you are able to say the irregular verbs correctly as well as the example Present Perfect sentences well.
A lot of learners of English find the Present Perfect tense a difficult one, so watching the video and English example sentences might help learners understand the use of this tense. The most important thing to remember is that this tense is a present tense, as the name suggests (Present Perfect) and when we use it, we talk about the present, not the past.
The irregular verbs are commonly used and all of them have multiple meanings. In this video, there is only one meaning presented and the images also refer to one meaning only. I am well aware that there are many other meanings, and the one that is presented might not be the most common one or the one that you use. Also, many irregular verbs have different correct pronunciation which you may not find in this video.
This video focuses on the Past Simple tense and you can learn the irregular verbs with affirmative and negative Past Simple sentences.
For irregular verb practiced also in the Past Simple but not in alphabetical order but in order of frequency, check out these videos:
Enjoy learning these verbs. :)
