Step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2!

After a decade of movies, the Harry Potter film series came to an end in 2011 with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. The whole series was a massive worldwide phenomenon and the final movie alone grossed over 1.3 billion at the box office!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 definitely raises some questions though. Like why is Harry getting strategic visions of Voldemort and not the other way around? Why doesn’t Voldemort send his super important snake away from the massive battle taking place? Why didn’t any of the really helpful magical things introduced in previous movies come into play? Why did Harry name his kid Albus Severus?

To answer all these questions, check out the pitch meeting that led to the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2!

Pensieve being called as "Bowl of Backstories" is just sheer brilliance right there..

The fact that the final battle of this series is Harry and Voldemort arguing over the terms of service for the recently introduced superwand is still insane to me.

I love that Producer Guy wanted to do with the seventh movie exactly what Voldemort wanted to do with his own soul haha

"Bowl of Backstories" absolutely killed me. But then Dumbledore said I could come back to life, so here I am.

I just realized that when Mcgonagall had that epic moment when she ordered the slytherin students to “the dungeons, ” they were just going back to their dorms.

"No one can stop us, ya know, mathematically" great line

I absolutely love that Ryan pulled out an OLD iPhone when he brought up Angry Birds so that it fit with when this movie came out. Gotta love that attention to detail!

“Would you settle for ‘unconvincing?’” is one of my favourite lines so far.

“So how long do you think it’ll be before we can milk this franchise again?”
“A couple years, give or take.”
“FANTASTIC!” Nice word choice, Ryan!

11 years later, and I'm only NOW realising that Harry caused the brutal death of that innocent Gringotts goblin.

"So none of the major wizarding institutions check for polyjuice potion. They just can't detect that kind of thing?"
No, but they do have is a waterfall that can dispel polyjuice potion, imperius curses, and other enchantments. But it's deep in the vault instead of past the front desk for some reason.

“The Bowl of Backstories”😂
YES, the eye color thing with Lily bugged me, they could have changed them in post and still kept her kid actress.

I like how he took the time to include details from the books that aren't mentioned in the movies, for example, all the Time Turners being destroyed

The increasingly crazed look in the producer's eyes at "we could split those two movies etc" is wonderful, really sells it

It’s a good thing that they chose “awkward teen romance” for Half-blood prince, instead of Voldemort’s backstory. Otherwise, Harry knowing what each Horcrux could even be would have made sense in this movie too.

Ryan continues to get funnier… years at it, and still improving

The way he mentions the importance of Lily's eye color and shows the boss not paying attention 😂😂☠

Wow! The way you described how awkward it should have been for Harry to name his own son Albus Severus really cracked me up
