How To Install An Aftermarket Motorcycle Exhaust | MC Garage

preview_player
Показать описание
Modern production motorcycle exhaust systems are highly engineered to find the best balance between power, sound decibels, and emissions requirements to keep our air clean. However, when headed to the track, to participate in a close-course event, all you are concerned about is power. Today on MC Garage Red Bull Street Freestyle athlete Aaron Colton shows you the ins and outs of installing a racing exhaust. In this episode he installs the exhaust on an Indian FTR 1200 S, however the installation process is similar for most new and used motorcycles.

It would be a better video if you explained “ Lloyd’s” or wherever or whomever that is, plus pricing would be great. Showing the box and having a proper unboxing would also improve this video without adding more than two minutes. Ok... so to do some of your work for you, here is what I found: the manufacturer of the unit is DynoJet, the unit is a motorcycle Power Vision 3 and they retail for between $400 and $550 (USD). They are only available for a relatively small number of late model bikes. Check out dynojet.com. (Now that’s useful, actionable information!)

I have no idea of it really is smoother after the remap. Difficult to compare one with the other when the new tune's idle is so bloody high - annoyingly high.

Is there a link you can post to where you got the exhaust and fuel mapping component?

Guys may I ask you something? A video about rust. Not only to protect the bike, but also how to remove rust from bolt and metal parts... Thanks!

Rather than taking off all that tank plastic, there is a pink access plug, below, on the right side,
inside the rear frame tubing triangle, just ahead of the plastic fuse cover.

That's a good looking motorcycle! I didn't know about this model from Indian. It sounds a lot meaner with the new exhaust :)

It pisses me off that the newer FTRs have a single piece Header/cat assembly where you cant remove the kitty

I saw that with the power comander 5 you can set the power for each gear, you can limit 2 gear and power 3rd gear for the track, haven't seen it done but it was posted on a description of the power comander 5.

Fitting aftermarket exhausts is always a joy, the really high end expensive exhausts nearly fit straight out of the box.Car exhausts are even more fun, those bends that are just slightly out of true and it's rattles and knocks aplenty, and if you're lucky the twin tail pipes might be in line!😉😀

Great video, very detailed. Great camera work and angles. I like it! Suggestions: (1) would love to know your garage setup (e.g. lift, workbenches, must haves, nice to haves, etc.) (2) maybe show more of the tuning programmer device (3) techniques for getting your bike prepped to work on

Are you going to be riding on the street? If so, you are breaking the law.

I’m assuming that changing it the exhaust and uploading a tune voids warranty?
