How to Install An Aftermarket Car Radio: 2001 Mercedes Benz SL500

Here is a quick tutorial on how to remove your factory radio and install an aftermarket head unit in your Mercedes Benz R129. Model of car is 2001 Mercedes Benz SL500. This was an easy plugin and play unit.

I have a 1998 Mercedes C230, The radio was busted, so I went to the junkyard and was able to find the exact radio, but it was off a 1994 vehicle, so to get the code I had to go all the way back to the junkyard which was 40 miles for me, and get the Vin number off the car in junkyard, But it works now and I’m very happy, I got this Mercedes for $250 and it is in very nice condition

You could send the old unit to “Becker Auto Sound “ in NY .They manufacture the stereo for Mercedes and they repair units and can add Bluetooth also in case you like the look of the old unit for the car . Just an idea 👍
