Humans love to eat. Humans also love stuffing food into the mouths of animals. They then wonder how these animals get fat. Lets collectively marvel at these obese animals.

My cat got up to 35 lbs but we both went on a diet and I’ve lost 70 lbs and Rocky has lost 15 lbs so far. We are both a lot more active and I’m training him to walk on a leash so we can go on walks together.

The fattest cat I've seen actually beat the world record. It was a cat my mother's friend owned that weighed a whopping 49.7 pounds. Despite that, the adorably chubby cat actually moved around her house fairly well and had lots of other cat friends in the house with 'em.

I had a full size wiener dog, before we had him an old man with dementia did and would forget he fed him and feed him again and ate whatever his owner ate instead of dog food. When we got him he was 8. He weighed 68 pounds. He passed away right before he turned 11. By the time he passed away with the diets we had him on he'd only lost 10 pounds.

Dachshunds are extremely prone to obesity, I have a miniature dachshund and I'll tell you that she gains weight just by smelling our dinner and needs constant supervision to keep her health in check. I keep her at a perfect 8lbs with low fat treats, its a lot of work but worth it when I see her able to run and play with our cat without getting tired. Gotta take care of the sausage doggos!

Had a Maine Coon mix with tabby who was 50 pounds. Thing was when we took him too the vet the vet said he was perfectly healthy, after all hed follow my sister and I around town like a lost puppy. His name was Puppy, funny enough. The vet ended up telling us he had falling when he was a kitten and broken some kind of grow plate that when it healed made him grow massive. Yeah he might of had some fat but the vet said with how much he walked with us and the grow plate being so abnormal it was mostly muscle. Idk if I believe it too this day and he was our cat, but its always cool to talk about that cat I grew up with he also was 20 or so when he died best cat ever.

I think for pets we have to remember a lot of these cases are older people. Who don’t have many in their lives so they quiet literally treat their animals as if they were their human friends.
