As someone who's been in IT for almost a decade my advice would be to never stop getting certifications. Many companies/ agencies actually do require them because of partnerships with certain industries. For example, if you have specific ccna/cisco certs staffed, some employers have deals with vendors that gives them discounts. I.e. you have 5 Cisco certs ccna or higher on staff so the company gets x amount of % off equipment ect.

Plus, if you find yourself unemployed and competing in the job market and you're up against someone where everything else is roughly equal but you have certs and the other doesn't.. they're likely to pick the one that does.

Jamesy, Is the CompTIA ITF+ cert worth getting? NO in most cases. WHY? I was a PT Remote Computer Instructor teaching the CompTIA Core Classes ITF+, A+, N+ and Sec+ online over ZOOM for a tech school in Detroit. I only taught 1 ITF+ class. Management and school admissions reps advised newbies to go directly to A+ cert as many of the students were taking advantage of pandemic era State work training grants and US Military GI and VA benefits. ITF+ was mainly "skipped over" by most students in favor of going directly to A+. I would recommend ITF+ as a great self study course for newbies interested in changing careers to IT so they get a sampling of many broad fundamentals of the industry.
