In this FL Studio 20 chord tutorial, I will show you how how to make chords and chord progressions even if you don't know music theory. Learning to make chords and chord progressions are essential in order to create harmony in music. If you want to make an effective song then having great sounding chords is essential because chords and chord progressions are in many ways the very foundation of your song, so make sure that you spend some time getting your chord progressions right. There are different kinds of chords you can use to make your music have a particular feel. For example, some chords are happy sounding, while other chords are darker or even sad sounding. This tutorial will show you the basic chords, and how to use them effectively to make an effective chord progression. It will also show you how to chop up chords and make a melody from chords.
All though this tutorial is for FL Studio, the same techniques can be applied to any daw, such as Ableton, Studio One, Cubase, Reaper and so on. If you want to learn how to make a chord progression that work well, then make sure to watch this entire tutorial until the end.
Last but not least, I just want to point out that if you're new to chords, then it can be helpful to use midi files to help you get great sounding chords. This is a good way to learn how to make effective chord progressions.
A chord progression doesn't have to be too complicated. Keep it simple.

Do you really NEED to know music theory?

Hi FireWalk! I am beginning my journey into understanding FL Studio deeper and what someone can do with it. I have seen a lot of videos on YouTube to get inspiration and teach me FL Studio and music theory, however I can tell you that your videos are the best. Your videos are short, straight to the point and you provide so many useful ideas and tricks that I can apply directly, that I feel like you're some kind of magician telling everyone how you actually do the magic. Especially also "use your ears" instead of showing numbers and thresholds all over the screen!
I think you're awesome! Keep up the good work!

I appreciate your channel and when people don't mock me for not knowing theory. I'm always a bit ashamed of lacking that knowledge. So I always say I make sounds, not music

You could spend 10 minutes explaining how to turn on my fuacet and I'd still enjoy it.

... how have I never known about that scaler helper...

Ever thought of doing a video on fuller and funkier drums/percussion. Sometimes a simple shaker really spices things up. A few times I've used random sounds i find for percussion, like coins shaking, I used a hit sound effect from minecraft once but dont know if i finished that one or was just experimenting

I would love you to do a video on programming arpeggios. I am interested in both piano and guitar arpeggios which are voiced differently. Thank you.
