The main character, D’arce the knight, bears many connections to Casca from Berserk. Casca is the long-standing high ranking female officer within Griffith’s Band of the Hawk mercenary group, just like D’arce is with Le’garde’s knights of the Midnight Sun and both wield a longsword as their weapon of choice. They are both intensely loyal to and have unrequited feelings for their captains, and set out to free them from the dungeons they are imprisoned in. Many believe D’arce’s design to be based on Casca’s as well, but it has been stated by Fear & Hunger’s creator, Miro, that D’arce’s design actually comes from Joan of Arc, and it is merely a coincidence she has similarities to Casca.

This is why the other female knight is called Jeanne, as the two names combined become Jeanne D'arce, which is pronounced similarily to the real name

Blud really said

"No... I don't know beserk, what's that???"

I think she’s more like Guts tbh. Losing your closest ally only to find him chained up and plotting to become a villain who wants to create a “perfect world” (he does in Termina)

Design wise, based on Joan of Arc but the whole personality nearly mimics Casca

I personally always thought Caska both in looks and personality was partially based off Joan of arc, even down to her story, she becomes a strong leader in an army/group, has to act and fight certain ways to convince others of their worthy, and in the end is betrayed but what they hold most dear, caska-Griffith Joan-god/church

Darce’s backstory also reminded me a lot of Farnese another female soldier from berserk I like to think she’s a combination of the two

Well shucks, it's almost a 1:1 accidental recreation of berserk. A real one million monkeys with one million typewriters situation

THANK YOU for pronouncing her name right.

I'm sure it's also a coincidence that the aforementioned commanders were tortured in captivity, and would later on sacrifice a large amount of human lives to ascend into godhood.

It's also a coincidence that the two commanders were pursued by two scary men with big ass swords to avenge their loved ones. The same way that coincidentally those two scary men can wear a self-harming set of armor to enhance their physical capabilities.

Fear and hunger clearly inspires itself a lot from berserk and silent hill, but it's still so much more than that, yeah, Le'garde might start as a copycat Griffith, but by the second game he has become so much more than just that, fear and hunger has a lot of really interesting original ideas, like the whole divinity system, the old and new gods are so cool and unique, things like the sulfur god, basically satan is created from the negative feelings of god upon ascension is really cool.

It's coincidental as Guts being based on Götz of the Iron Hand.

Fear and Hunger 2: Zelda: Majora's Mask

Her motivations are Casca-esque but her personality and religiousness reminds me more of how Farnese was before joining Guts.

The creator of Fear and Hunger was probably just trying to avoid that Beserk lawsuit. When he first created the game, lol.
