on the nexus 5 can you jut replace the charge port itself or do you have to replace the whole thing?

The battery looks really easy to get to do you have to remove the motherboard to replace it?

Indicate me to my problems please, the screen I believed works and was installed correctly because I saw it so but I reopen it once again and I believe that I have short circuited, one or more of the phone parts, this it what happens the screen is now completely none lit once early some times it will fewly may flick on glow blank screen, and a white light indicator will blink a few times, I plug it back into wall charger still blinking indicator only sign, tryed to hooking everything and re attacking pins still nothing but then later I was messing around with the power button I don't remember what I did and it came on booted and I was even on net thennn....doom it red faded screen lost color and a sign saying "xremove" and screen powers down I have not been able to re do what I have done and get it to star up since then I fear I have short circuited one but what, help soon.  I know that the screen is working though, maybes mother board issue why i don't know  i think it just is.
