BMW e90 Rear shock mounting kit replacement DIY

I had to replace my rear shock mounting kit for the driver side. This video shows briefly what has to be done. Less than 1 hour of DIY which requires basic mechanic skills

Good job, thanks bud, mine went through today, i hit a pothole doing 70, heard a massive bang, pulled over to have a look about, all seemed ok until i drove away, then the knocking started and backend was all over the place. Ordered new parts will fit when get here

That all foam material upper/middle and dust cover..i replaced modified with black rubber..no more weak soft foam... more realiable....

Hi sir...after replacement upper and lower mounting do we need to do tire allignment?

Did mine yesterday but the top bit wouldn’t come through e ouch for je to screw the bolt on didn’t seem like there was enough thread to catch it tried pushing it up any ideas?

At 1:04 right under the top mount, there is like a flanged part that's rusted. Is that the part that broke from the metal cap? If so, did you remove it because I didn't see it again in the video. Also, is it necessary to change the shocks too because I had mine done less than 4 years ago...
