After some brief jungle tests... He will actually be extremely viable. If you execute camps with E, you get stardust. 1 for small, 5 for large, 4 for scuttle, 10 for dragon/rift... This can get you around 20-30 stardust on your first clear which is insane!
Edit: E can also hold dragon/rift in place

I can see his new Q is the successor of his W. While I love the current W because it's really unqiue. It fits more for battlemage and Asol is more of a control mage.

His new W is absolutely beautiful and allows him to have more application. His current flight is only good to set up your Q or to retreat. But it has really high cooldown so you have to be mindful about using it. Plus the way he turns around my God. The animation looks gorgeous and makes him more lively if that makes sense.

His new E looks like a good replacement of current Q. Though for this one, it's a really good spell to farm Stardust or deny an area. I love ability that is simple but has many applications.

The ultimate is the cherry on top. The shockwave even disturbs jungle monster. It "projects" this powerful fantasy that his star descending waking up everyone. And if you get hit by its impact, good luck lmao.

Overall, I feel like this rework is really really good at translating his cosmic dragon fantasy. He's not only functioning closer to a dragon but he's also more destructive with these new spells. I love it so far. I avoid talking about Stardust mechanic because it's the most normal looking passive. But for positivity sake, it feels like Asol is reclaiming back his power. The scale might be small but remember, that is to Asol. For others, it would be massive power growth.

Okay Imma stop now or else this turns into an essay. TLDR, this rework looks promising and every abilities reflect his design + lore better. I'm looking forward to it

To be honest, I wish they kept the 3 stars as part of his passive along with all these rework. Yeah the new kit is better but the 3 floating stars does look cool.

I like his new Q, it replaces his stars as an extended trade tool and will be just as oppressive as his stars, albeit less fun to use
W is just his old E with a reset.
His new R seems like a ton of fun to use, and I'll take it any day over his old R.

However, his new E being sustained damage is a waste, and the execute will be another 200 years mechanic that has nothing to do on the champion.
I'm an old Asol main, I was thinking yesterday how much fun it would be if "Singularity" was a slowing zone. It would have multiple charges, and would deal no sustained damage, but would instead explode after 2ish seconds. That way, you can deny areas while ganking and it would be a fun jungler control mage. I still really like how it drags enemies!

My probably unpopular opinion that no one cares about:
Honestly, i don't know if we can call it Aurelion Sol anymore. Don't get me wrong, it looks amazing, but it's simply not him, he has lost everything that makes him an unique champion, and now he's simply a late game burst mage. It's a whole other champion, just the same appearance.

Anyway, I'm not an Aurelion main, even though i enjoy playing him. On the other hand, I'd hate if one of my mains had all it's abilities completely changed.

They literally gave him the Madara Uchiha finisher as the ultimate. (Tengai Shinsei- Heaven Conceal) now that makes so much sense as both Asol and Madara have the same voice artist, Neil Kaplan.
