This Lure SLAYS Winter Bass!!! (Cold Water Fishing Tips)

SLAYING bass on one of the BEST Winter baits! After having a successful fishing trip to the North East River the day before, I decided to return and hone my fishing skills with two KEY winter baits: the blade bait and the jig. Catching nothing on these baits yesterday was worrisome, considering they are two of the very best lures you can throw when it gets cold. After refining my technique and gear, I dialed into fish and absolutely SLAYED EM!!!

-Favorite Balance 7’3” ML/f spinning rod

Primary Pattern: Yo-yoing a blade bait in 3-6 feet of water
Time Fished: 7:00 am - 11:00 am
Air Temp: Low of 40 degrees, high of 44 degrees
Water Temp: 48 degrees
Water Clarity: 15 - 20 inches
Conditions: Mostly cloudy with winds from the West up to 12 mph

I'm in the process if putting my dad to rest. Earlier in the year I borrowed some of his tackle when i started to get into fishing again. He had all these blade baits and i snagged and lost a few and ultimately gave up on them (thought they were for trolling and i'm a bank fisherman). His 61st birthday is coming up December 30th and after watching this video i've decided to slay a midwest winter bass on his birthday in honor of him.

Go the blades. I jig them when I find a school in deep water or troll them from the yak. Awesome to see they are getting some recognition. They are a really versatile bait.

Holy crap i have one of those blaze baits and i got it cause it looked like a dumb lure and this morning i saw ur vid and tried it out at my local golf coarse bond and caught 5 1 pound bass in 30 mins thanks 1rod
