How dare this asteroid think it can destroy us when we're doing such a great job on our own

I interviewed with NASA OIG for about 8 months, and even though I didn’t get selected in the last round; their company culture is so so so cool! I interviewed with people from every department- even ones I’d never directly work with, just so I could get a feeling for the workplace culture and every single person was BRILLIANT AND SO HUMBLE. Love this piece you covered!

Nobel Prize Redefined. Math is way more powerful than magic. Absolutely Astonishing.

I love Tyson’s little jab at the anti-science people.

Testing long range missiles makes me, Russia and China nervous. We do don't know what will happen ? Disrupting a gravitational formation just cause we can is irresponsible unless needed. Detect not determined the trajectory of the outcome. Respectfully In my opinion

I still don’t understand why modern society is still against NASA.

In the future, we will catch those asteroids to mine them.

Knocking an Asteroid off its trajectory, what could possibly go wrong?

Push it early enough? The last couple of asteroids that almost crashed into earth had like a two week warning lol

This is impressive. I'm very concerned about the unintended consequences of this.

serious question: what don't they just nuke it? if it becomes into smaller pieces they're gonna have less kinetic energy and more surface area so the atmosphere would slow them down even more. also the DART is gonna crash into a smaller asteroid, what if it's a really big asteroid, would the difference in weight ratio move the asteroid way less?
