Genelle, it's the distance between the weight and S2, which you are using as a pivot. A moment is always calculated using the distance from the pivot point. Where there are two potential pivots, here S1 and S2, you pick one as the pivot and treat the other as a force applied to the beam. Hope that's in time for your exam - it was the middle of the night in the UK when you posted.

A tractor of weight 15000 N crosses a single span bridge of weight 8000 N and the lenght 21 m. The bridge span is supported half a metre from either end. The tractor's front wheels take 1/3 of the total weight of the tractor, and the rear wheels are 3m behind the front wheels. Calculate the force on the bridge supports when the rear wheels are at the middle of the bridge span.(Please make video on this question )

HELP PLEASE!!!!😅when you times the forces by the distances why does it equal to 4 lots of s1 when you only included the forces up to 2M of the beam

Why do you multiply P by 0.9, whereas according to the previous sample logic, you should have multiplied it by 0.1? didn't you mix up P and Q?

0.9 is not pronounced "nuh point nine" its "zero point nine"
