Also thought this might be a good chance to share my own reco, Borne by Jeff Vandermeer 😁 it now sits alongside Frankenstein as my all-time fave novel (depending on the day it could be one or the other 😅). I'm reading In Ascension now, it is truly impressive.

FINALLY! I've watched about 8 videos looking for something new to read, since moving through sample reading is so slow going, and this is the first video I've watched that actually had books written AFTER the year 2000. One of my personal favorites (dont judge me) is Battlefield Earth. A very long sci fi book with, in the authors own words, as much stuff crammed into it as possible. Space western, cyberpunk, mystery, crime drama, all of that. The author even said he just wanted to have fun with it. Only its slightly misogynistic as it was written in the 80s. But if you can look past that and not allow it to affect the reading experience, its a very fun and entertaining book. Kind of messed up at times too.
