Affinity Photo Version 2: Luminosity Range Mask

Affinity Photo version 2 added a new luminosity range mask, which lets you create a live, dynamic mask that can select a part of the image based on its luminosity (or 'lightness'). This lets you non-destructively change selections on the fly and hence adjustments applied using them.

thank you, that's one of the best explanations of how two use a Luminosity Mask and how to use it.

Asbsoultely brilliant and so simple. I knew about thsi tool and had wathced some very complex tutorials on ans consequently really struggled to apply it. This short and simple tutorial will be a game changer I think. Thank you very much.

Hi Dave! I have been following your channel for many years and I am extremely grateful for all your work. There's not really a way of saying this tactfully so I'm going to be direct and I hope I do not cause any offense. Because of my lifestyle I mostly have to follow your videos on my phone. This becomes difficult when you use placement and demonstrative terms, such as here, there, over there, this, that. This is because it is too difficult to see what you are indicating visually, even when I'm able to concentrate on looking at my phone. It is my impression that you are tending to do this more than in your earlier videos . If it is possible to be more descriptive it would help me a lot. If not, no matter, I think you'll be doing great and I will continue to follow them as best I can.

I've appreciated and enjoyed your videos but I'm switching to Adobe Photography package, there's still no support for the new Fujifilm cameras (X-H2/s), frustrating really but they ought to build their own in house RAW processing rather than rely on third parties.

Why not setting the brightness/contrast layer on top of the image and inserting a luminosity mask?
