This Shotgun is Amazing

This shotgun is amazing. Perfect paradox is a kinetic shotgun that can get one two punch to make your punches deal a ton of damage, especially in melee focused builds. It also gets pugilist to give more melee energy and buff handling each time you melee. But what really makes this special is the cast no shadows origin trait. Dealing melee damage load ammo back into the magazine. With one two punch you want to shoot punch shoot punch anyway, so you’ll essentially never have to reload.

I've been using Until It's Return with - undated hunger - cascade point - overflow ‐ extended mag - barrel shroud. It's crazy fun to play with.

Use Field Prep, not Pugilist. The whole point of a 1-2 punch shotgun is that you *aren’t* getting the kill with the shotgun, so the melee charge part is useless. You could go with threat detector if you want better handling, but a mod and a handling barrel and mw will sort that problem out for you.

Field prep leans even further into why this is the best 1-2 shotty. Increase your ammo reserves even further on the 1-2 shotty that never needs to reload. You can get 25 consecutive 1-2 melees off without a reserves mod that way. Reserves total also determines how much ammo you get per brick, so you’ll get more ammo for the shotgun as well.

As for the people saying trench barrel, no. Trench barrel’s damage buff is crazy good, but it only lasts for 3 shots. While rapid fires have the highest base dps of any shotgun frame, having to melee every 3 shots decreases the dps of faster firing shotguns much more than the slower firing ones. Aggressives take so long to shoot their shots that you can fit an entire melee in between each shot and lose no time at all, which is why they, and consequently Acrius as well, are the best trench shotguns.

If you want a rapid fire shotgun for dps, use one that has cascade point like until it’s return. Mini 4th horseman go

Trench Barrel + song of flame with this origin perk means you can get really good dmg just using snap -> shoot x3. Use the artifact mod to make the origin perk to overflow the mag

Disregarding it's in an energy slot, compass rose has been really fun for me lately. Been using one-two punch with an Assasin + liars class item (haven't gotten Caliban Liar's yet) and it's doing work🔥 before that I was using paradox tho. Still a great weapon
