Today, Austin learned to review patient records before engaging with the patient.

Reminds me of when I went to the ER. This older lady about 50 or 60 yrs old, was brought in cause her fever wasn't going down. The lady was talking saying she was fine but the fever is what brought her in. They asked her if she took a COVID test before she came just in case it was and said yes and it was negative. They did a COVID test on her just in case it was a false negative, and when they came back they were all wearing masks and gloves. Telling the the lady that she was positive, she just laughed and said that that's what her test read too. She knew she had COVID but she really didn't care cause she wanted her fever to go down. Like wtf I'm in here for a kidney infection and I'm also diabetic so my immune system is low.

I work in H.I.M. aka Med Records. Our office is not at the hospital but across town. During the Pandemic when patients tested positive their employers wanted proof. So the COVID positive patients would walk in without a mask and request their lab result. We would get so angry. This one time a woman tested positive and called asking how she could get her result.. she was told to call us when she reached our parking lot and someone would meet her at her vehicle . Well she arrived and didn’t call. She walked into our office. We immediately ushered her out because we had another patient who was battling leukemia and was immune deficient. People are so stupid.

The thing is. Turmeric can actually work to an extent, but it's something you definitely don't want to abuse. For mild soreness, there's always honey, thyme and mint.

Sounds about right. I'm a teacher and one of my littles on the 3rd week of school very happily told me they had a fever, sore throat and coughing before coming to school and that their mom had given them medicine and sent them to school. I tried to send them home and their parents didn't "want them home". One week later I was positive with covid. The week befoee had been a rough week too and didn't go out once, even had groceries delivered. Some people don't give a f*ck about anyone else.

My sister works as a radiologist assistant. She shared an incident where a man arrived complaining of chest pains. During the scan, she noticed clear signs of COVID in his lungs, describing it as resembling 'shattered glass on the images’ Using her microphone, she asked the patient if he had been tested for COVID, and he admitted it had come out positive 💀💀💀. Everyone was extremely pissed, questioning why he hadn't disclosed his COVID status when booking the appointment even when asked. His actions risked infecting all the staff, including all the present, sick patients too 🤷🏽‍♀️. To make matters worse, the man mentioned he had arrived and planned to leave by bus 🤯. Mind you this incident happened in the midst of the full on 2020 COVID pandemic, highlighting the careless attitude of some individuals who disregard the safety of others for their own convenience, while all of the others had to follow the rules for the wellbeing of everyone. 💀These are the same people who spread it in the first place.

I was a taxi driver, and one thing that shocked me was how many people got into the cab saying "I have the flu, rsv, covid...." and had literally no problem spreading their disease. I kinda miss the days when the county nurse locked you and your family in your house with a quarantine sign nailed to the front door. People are selfish idiots.

I'm surprised a flag didn't pop up when he was registered for this visit. Especially if he was already there less than a week ago.
Our system has a red banner underneath the patient name if they're COVID positive and then it's my job in registration to make sure they mask up and that the nurses are aware before the patient is seen.

The fact that people go to the ER for a SORE THROAT.

I went to the er with the worst sore throat of my life and unable to make a single sound. That’s when we all learned it was a symptom of Covid. It was my only symptom thought I’d had severe strep yet again. Being mute was kinda terrifying.

I will never understand that. Patients with a cough or respiratory illness who get up in your face and talk to you without even covering their mouths when they cough. It's like where do you find these people?

If ever there's a time to wear a mask, it's at an ER or urgent care

Reminded me when I am working in a retail pharmacy. A customer requested me to check his blood pressure. He also removed his mask to ask me to check on his facial pigmentation. After all that, he proceeded to say "Don't be alarm but I am covid positive, do you mind me sitting here for a while? It's really hot out there". I am pissed off and asked him to go out immediately and quarentine himself. Damn some people can be ignorant.

Austin hasn't learned that ER nurses will dive head first into anything without PPE yet. Except for bed bugs or scabies.
