Around 50 senior doctors of the government-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata have tendered their resignations on Tuesday as a mark of solidarity with junior doctors who have been on fast-unto-death since Saturday. The protesting doctors are demanding justice for the deceased trainee doctor who was brutally raped and murdered inside the RG Kar hospital premises. The decision to resign en masse was taken at a meeting of the heads of various departments of the state-run hospital on Tuesday morning
