Today, I'm going to share with you my top slow blues licks in the key of A. Every one of these licks has something unique to enhance your blues soloing.

Lick number one is all about the classic blues sound, by racking the strings every time you go for a bend, you will give much more feel to those notes.

Lick number two is based around a descending minor pentatonic. Keep adding a little bit of "dirt" to your playing to get an authentic feel.

Lick number three makes good use of the blue note. Change the dynamics between the first part of the lick and the last one for added expression.

Lick number four gives us the opportunity to experiment with micro bends.

And finally, lick number five adds some tasty double stops using sixth intervals.

So easy why could I not do that before - you are a confidence builder - unfortunately for me i'd rather watch tv - so easily weird though - Y could I not play that before? Thank you sir, I am glad i checked in. Now I have to remember David showed me that lick - for free too. God bless you, sir. Can't wait to show my wife - even though she is never amused - I think the first lick may grab her attention. Thanks again DW, sir. Blessings to you and yours, I am so happy with my new lick.

Is this minor or major pentatonic scale?

Great video and selection of licks. I love this style of Blues but I can’t seem to actually define it. I have an obsession with classifying things. Can somebody provide some criteria of what “Slow Blues” is as opposed to a slow Blues song? I have lots of both but can’t seem to make clear distinctions—maybe there isn’t?

Dang you bend the strings like they’re only 6’s or something haha! Looks like elastic bands 😆 I keep switching to lighter gauges as I get more into lead

Nice try. I was unable to get anything past the second lick. May in a year or two I'll be able to follow along.

Playing these note for note (with various embellishments) and my playing still sounds lame. I'm giving up. 😕
