On today's What America's Thinking, a new Hill-HarrisX poll finds President Trump trailing Joe Biden by 5 percentage points, a 2 percentage point drop from the post-debate polling. Hill-HarrisX research finds younger voters are consistently more likely to say they do not plan to vote or are not sure who they will vote for. Dan Cox, Public Opinion Research Fellow and Director of the Survey Center on American Life at the American Enterprise Institute, and Nazita Lajevardi, Assisant Professor of Political Science at Michigan State University, join Hill TV to discuss. This survey was conducted online within the United States from October 3-6 among 2,841 registered voters by HarrisX. The sampling margin of error of this poll is plus or minus 1.84 percentage points. The results reflect a nationally representative sample of registered voters. Results were weighted for age within gender, region, race/ethnicity, income, political party, and education where necessary to align them with their actual proportions in the population.

Pence got the messaging out there. He destroyed Harris in the only debate that makes any coherent sense.

Can we poll America for: "Would you let Joe Biden stand behind your daughter?"

Almost every single person that says "not sure" is a vote for Trump.

No one has asked my opinion. I am an independent and have not been represented in any of the polls. Maybe I should stage a protest? Throw a tantrum? Defund Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi? Yes, I like that last one. She and her cohorts have wasted so much of my tax dollars the last four years I am thinking I may have to vote after all.

This is way different race than what anyone is saying. Trump still going to win.

reporter: "Will you pack the Supreme Court"
Biden: "I'm not gonna answer that because as soon as I do, that will be the headline on all of your papers, everywhere"

Translation: Yes, I'm packing the court but I know Americans hate that idea by a huge margin, so I'm gonna refuse to answer because getting elected is really all that matters to me.

Joe wanted to cast aside the Bernie voters and not take on any of his policies. This will be the thing that cost Joe the election. I still can't believe Joe hasn't tried to reach out and disrespects socialist all the time.

Not sure means F you I don't trust pollsters and I'm voting for Trump. Voter shaming is a vice of the left.

If you belong to a major party and you believe you're on the good team you're a fool and the problem.

If registering to vote and going to vote are beyond your mental capabilities it's a good if you don't vote.

This just shows how dishonest the media is.

Interesting, talking about how young people might not want to vote because they don't feel all their issues are being talked about. So, they want to keep Trump, because that is the other option....

FiveThirtyEight this morning shows Biden with 10.1 point lead over Trump, the widest gap of the campaign. I would go with this gold standard rather than the Hill-HarrisX.
