This band should have been so much bigger....this is an incredible power ballad. Steve Whiteman the singer was a voice coach during the 90's after the band first shut down. He looks exactly the same today as he did in the 80's. His voice pretty much remained solid all the way up to last August when they fully retired.

I had a girlfriend that was from Pennsylvania. This band played starting out around Philadelphia, I think! She took me to see them when they came to Cincinnati, Ohio to a rock bar. Loved them! Seen them one other time in Louisville, Kentucky with Ratt, and Britney Fox.

I've always understood this tune to be about taking your own life. Don't sing your last lullaby. She's using the drugs to bring her life to an end.

The lead singer's name is Steve Whiteman. He was Lzzy Hale of Halestorm's vocal coach at one point. He teaches ( or did) vocals and harmonica.

Okay, before someone suggests "Cold Blood" as the next song, try something off the beaten path. Checkout "Same Jane" by Kix. If you wanna tread further off the path to earlier stuff, try "Walkin' Away" or "For Shame" as a couple in the ballad side.

As omxsks has said, it's about suicide. The pills are sleeping pills. Maybe find a video with the lyrics. The hope you hear is hopeless. Don't get me wrong though, this is a good first reaction.
