Poland is one of Ukraine's biggest allies in its war against Russia.
Why is Poland so involved in somebody else's war? Why do they care?
Poland has some really unfortunate geography that led it to getting invaded time and time again throughout the years. So much so, in fact, that Poland was wiped off the map several times.
From its mythical origins to the modern era, Poland's history is a valiant story of struggle and preservation.

1:26 Fun fact, Emperor of holy Roman empire, Otto 3, planned to give Mieszko 1 his crown and make Poland second empire which would be responsible for eastern europe, but Otto died soon after his visit in poland and his ancessor decided "well, if poland is so mighty and rich, why won't I steal its goods? I can rule whole world" so he atttacked Poland (or wanted to attack it) and this is how Polish-german relationship begins... xD

No. Rus does not stand for russia. Russia was founded Long after Poland and Czechia. Rus stands for Kievian Rus which is currently non-existing country which was predecessor for Ukraine. Kievian Rus has merged with poland and later, Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth. It has nothing in common with russia.

That three brothers story is always so weirdly funny to me.
So they all went on a family hunting trip, wandered off between like, 600-1200 KM away from one another and just set down roots right there and then
See my understanding was that the purpose of a hunting trip was to come back. Preferably with food.

It may be incomprehensible to people unfamiliar with Slavic languages, but:
Slavic: Ruś -> English: Ruthenia
Slavic: Rus -> English: guy from Ruthnia
Slavic: Rosja -> English: Russia (shortcut Rus)

It never ceases to amaze me how old and how young Poland is at the same time.

1. Winged hussars lost their position because big costs of horses (it is main reason, gunpowder is second) and it was heavy cavalry
2. Polish peasant had better life than Prussian or Russian, there is no doubts in it (they had more rights)
3. Cossacks weren't opressed, they had many rights in the Kingdom

Two fun facts:
After the battle of Grunwald the Pope cursed whole Poland, and to this day every Christian church and everything about it doesn't matter, which makes everyone unable to go to heaven in Poland.
Also Poland's current anthem is trash, as we had a 3x better anthem many years ago that had a lot of lyrics based off how much Poland had to fight for independance. Its named, ,Rota", and it is
Infuriating becouse it would be better as an Anthem, but it has a one line saying something like:, ,Germans wont spit in our faces, neither germanize our children".

not bad not bad, but you could make it better like telling about polish soviet war, poles saving vienna, about uprisings, polish hungarian friendship, poles taking moscow. You know, beacuse you make us seem like drudge of europe and it wasnt like that every time. (sorry for bad english).

If i could add a little bit: 1919 to 1922 we struggled with red revolution and it was a big deal Lenin and all (it seems you went over it).I know the movie is done and all but its important, soo for future... The rest is so good, i'm amazed how you cramed so much in. Thx a lot and good luck for future

In WW2 Poland did not disappear from the maps, it was occupied and there Polish authorities was in exile.There are a lot of understatements and the presentation of the story is not entirely reliable
